Si tratta del debutto assoluto del Marsala Femminile under 15 in casa, dal momento che la squadra marsalese partecipa al campionato regionale come neofita: la scorsa stagione ha, infatti, compartecipato con il Trapani Calcio.
Il campionato regionale under 15 è un campionato di sola andata, ove le squadre si affronteranno una sola volta o in casa o fuori casa, secondo calendario, fino a disputare le fasi di semifinale e finale. La squadra vincente si giocherà il posto a livello nazionale. Le squadre partecipanti a questo campionato sono: il Marsala Femminile, il Trapani Calcio, il Catania Femminile, Il Palermo Calcio, il Balestrate e Sicula Leonzio.
Le ragazze guidate dai mister Valeria Anteri e Cristina Casano hanno piacevolmente stupito il numeroso pubblico accorso. Hanno giocato con grinta e determinazione contro un Catania che si è dimostrato un valido avversario ma alla fine la squadra di casa, sul finire del secondo tempo, con una bellissima azione corale messa a frutto dalla marsalese Erica Agate ha decretato la vittoria suscitando grandi entusiasmi sugli spalti.
Elena Tumbarello, Melania Adamo, Lucrezia Donato, Giorgia Mannone, Helena Clemente, Oumaima Bahloul, Teresa Sorrentino, Greta Marino, Sofia Agozzino, Erica Agate, Arianna Spalla e Giulia Ganci, le atlete che hanno onorato il campo in questa prima partita casalinga. Ricordiamo che sono tutte atlete che vanno dai 2005 ai 2007 con due fuori quota che sono Helena Clemente (il capitano) e Lucrezia Donato (il portiere e vice capitano) che giocano in prima squadra così come Giorgia Mannone. La squadra formata in larga maggioranza da marsalesi, oltre a due trapanesi annovera due ragazze fuori territorio, Giulia Ganci che raggiunge gli allenamenti tre volte la settimana da Montevago e Sofia Agozzino che è in prestito dallo Gimnic Club Stadium di Sciacca.
Questa seconda giornata di campionato (la prima partita contro il Balestrate è stata sospesa per avverse condizioni meteo) ha regalato grande soddisfazione e grande entusiasmo alle ragazze, ai due tecnici e soprattutto al Presidente Giuseppe Chirco, che finalmente, sta vedendo crescere il suo sogno che è quello di creare un importante vivaio per la prima squadra, condizione necessaria per poter essere competitivi nel campionato di Eccellenza e soprattutto nelle categorie superiori.
A tal proposito domenica 16 febbraio alle 9:30 lo Stadio Lombardo Angotta, sede del Marsala Calcio Maschile, aprirà i battenti alla FIGC per ospitare l’open day femminile: “Settimana rosa: porta un’amica” e la nostra Valeria Anteri sarà presente in qualità di delegato provinciale della FIGC, invitando tutte le ragazze appassionate di calcio che vogliono intraprendere questa difficile ma splendida sfida.
