INQUINAMENTO AMBIENTALE DI FAVIGNANA. PRESENTATA INTERROGAZIONE AL MINISTRO COSTA

Il Senatore Santangelo del m5s tornerà ad occuparsi della SEA (Società Elettrica Accardi), la società che svolge attività di produzione, distribuzione di energia elettrica su tutto il territorio dell’isola di Favignana.
Questa volta ha posto l’attenzione sulla questione dell’inquinamento ambientale, arrivata tra l’altro alla ribalta della carta stampata e non ultimo qualche settimana addietro dal giornalista Marco Bova durante un evento pubblico organizzato presso la sede del Movimento Cinque Stelle di Trapani e Erice, dove per l’appunto è stato proiettato un piccolo video a testimonianza dell’inchiesta svolta sull’isola di Favignana nelle adiacenze della centrale termoelettrica.
Tutto è riconducibile ad una rottura di una cisterna di gasolio negli anni ’80, che purtroppo nel tempo malgrado alcuni interventi di rimozione sembrerebbe non averne sortito nessun effetto benefico per l’ambiente, tanto è vero che dai rubinetti delle abitazioni limitrofe, fuoriusciva il gasolio.
Il prossimo 26 febbraio il GUP del Tribunale di Trapani valuterà se accogliere o rigettare la richiesta dei pubblici ministeri nel merito del rinvio a giudizio per Filippo Giuseppe Accardi, amministratore della SEA, per  vari reati amministrativi e  per essere accusato di “inquinamento ambientale”, aggravato dal fatto che è stato compiuto in un ecosistema inserito nell’Area Marina Protetta delle Egadi.

Sono state riconosciute  le costituzioni di parte civile, di un consigliere comunale che aveva denunciato i fatti assieme al Comune di Favignana e all’Agenzia regionale per la protezione dell’Ambiente di Trapani.

Tutto ciò è stato sottoposto all’attenzione del Ministro dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare con una interrogazione, anche per sapere se intenda intraprendere provvedimenti eccezionali di bonifica, nell’interesse primario della tutela del paesaggio, della salubrità dell’ambiente e della salute dei cittadini, per il deterioramento significativo  delle acque sotterranee e dell’equilibrio dell’ecosistema compreso nell’Area Marina Protetta (AMP) delle Isole Egadi.
